How To Install Docker on Ubuntu

Docker is an open platform for devops to build, ship, and run distributed applications. In this tutorial, I will show you how to install Docker on Ubuntu.

First, we will update the ubuntu package:

Next, we install the packages to allow apt to use a repository over HTTPS:

Next, we add Docker’s official GPG key:

Next, we add the docker repository to the standard Ubuntu repositories:

Finally, we can install Docker Community Edition (CE)

To verify that Docker is successfully installed we can run the Docker hello-world image.
